Cultural Fluency and Language Proficiency: Isabella & Ferdinand® Academia de Español™ Joins Forces with Ross Elementary School


[Washington DC, July 19th, 2023] – Isabella & Ferdinand® Academia de Español™ continues its joint efforts with public schools in the DMV area to enhance certified Spanish learning opportunities. The esteemed 501(c)(3) organization, dedicated to teaching students of all ages and accredited by the Instituto Cervantes in Madrid, is pleased to announce a new partnership with Ross Elementary School, located in Washington DC.

Since 2010, Isabella & Ferdinand® Academia de Español™ has been revolutionizing Spanish language education by providing an immersive experience. Their inclusive and dynamic programs foster linguistic proficiency and cultural fluency, combining language education with cultural experiences to make learning Spanish enjoyable, engaging, and relevant.

On the other hand, Ross Elementary serves children from PK4 through grade 5 and is situated in the heart of Dupont Circle in a charming historic building with a beautiful playground and playing field. The school is dedicated to providing a comprehensive education. "As we say, our school is a place for children to grow, and this partnership to ignite Spanish learning is proof that we want to build global citizens that understand the importance of languages. We are delighted to offer our community this pilot program, empowering students with Spanish certifications and engaging them in the Spanish language, whether they are native speakers or non-natives," expressed Holly Searl, Principal of Ross Elementary School.

Maira Abasto, Executive Director of the renowned academy, highlighted the importance of this collaboration between Isabella & Ferdinand and Ross Elementary School, which will foster a synergistic approach that promotes language acquisition, cultural understanding, and overall educational growth. "We are excited to implement our robust plan that develops language skills in the students while exploring the art, literature, and music of the Spanish-speaking world, all in a fun and meaningful way. Our education approach is inclusive, culturally sensitive, and relevant."
